Last week we had 5 young men volunteer to help the Hammond City Crew spread wood chips on the new playground! Great job fellas!

These students have taken and successfully passed the Microsoft Certifications, industry-level exams. Numerous students this year have been certified in Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and/or Outlook, with many more left to be taken this year! Two students have taken and passed all 4, which is quite the accomplishment with the time given and prep work involved.

Nine students are advancing to The FBLA State Competion on Monday and Tuesday, attempting to win a spot at the National Competition in Atlanta, GA. Lilyana P. and Pyper L. will be competing in Public Service Announcement, Aaron H. and Jayden B. will be competing in Sales Presentation, and the team of Lily H./Breanna P./Claire P. will be competing in American Enterprise Project. Braden R. will be testing in Intro to Financial Math, Breanna P. will be testing in Marketing, Lucy M. will be testing in Economics, and Claire P. will be testing in Personal Finance.
In addition, 3 students were selected to attend the Leadership Academy during the conference . These student are Hayden B., Keaton C., and Izzy S.

SCC Junior Haile C, is doing an independent study with Mrs. Rozeboom studying the effects of adding excess nutrients to tomato plants. She is studying both the overall growth and the taste of the final tomato. She plans to enter the State FFA Agriscience competition held in June.
