YA Students/Employers of the Week
Did you know that technical schools like CVTC and WITC offer advanced standing and/or college credit for participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program? Did you know the average wage for the YA students at SCC is $12.66/hr? Did you know there are over 32 pathways that YA students can be employed in?
Meet two of our current YA students:
Name: Lucas Miller
Employer: NEO Electrical Solutions
Mentor: Jeff Nimis
Pathway Area: Architecture and Construction with a specialization in Electrical Fundamentals.
As part of his Youth Apprenticeship standards, Lucas will also receive his OSHA 10 Certification and be certified in First Aid.
About NEO Electrical Solutions: Neo Electrical Solutions is responsible for industrial and commercial electrical installation & maintenance services.

Employer: Mueller Farms
Mentor: Brent Mueller
Pathway Area: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources specializing in General Animal Care
To prepare Bridget for her YA experience, she has taken courses in Small Animal Veterinary Science, Wildlife Management, and is currently enrolled in a Freshwater Aquatics course.
