**ON HOLD until Fall ‘25** DESTINATION IMAGINATION
Destination Imagination ("D.I.") is a creative problem solving S-T-E-A-M after-school program. It focuses on critical thinking, analysis, learning ownership, and outrageous outside-the-box ideas. The program revolves around a competition schedule that typically has Regionals in March; top 2-3 teams advance to compete at state level in April; and then the final stage is the Global Finals in Kansas City. The kids pick a single Central Challenge that they spend the year working on and creating. There are 6 different options that the kids (in teams of 4-7) pick and then work together towards that end goal of competition. The options are Technical (more robotics, coding, physical problem solving such as mazes), Structure (engineering, architecture, weight bearing/ design), Fine Arts (stagecraft, sets, script writing, costumes), Scientific (a mix of technical and fine arts but has to show the process of kid led experiment), Improv (themed lists that the kids roll dice from and have only 30 mins to develop a performance), and Service Learning (identified need in the home community that the kids create a program to help address). In addition to the Central Challenges, the kids must also participate in Instant Challenges on the day of the competitions to show off their acquired skills of teamwork, quick thinking, division of tasks, creativity etc.

FFA
The National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) envisions a future in which all agricultural education students will discover their passion in life and build on that insight to chart the course for their educations, career and personal future! St. Croix Central FFA does TONS of stuff all throughout the year! 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to join now and begin preparing themselves for leadership roles in high school! There really is something for everyone. Social events, volunteering, fun trips to places like the Dells and Mall of America, camping and lots more. Our chapter loves coming up with fun and creative ideas and welcomes you to take part! You don't have to be a future farmer to take part in this awesome organization!
Join us! Contact our advisor, Mrs. Gretchen Rozeboom, for more information and for a membership form. Forms are also available in the Middle School office.

FORENSICS
Forensics Website - Forensics offers public speaking, performance and presentation experience to interested 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The purpose of middle school forensics is to build self-confidence and oral competency by developing and practicing fundamental public speaking skills. Approximately 30 SCCMS students perform at three local meets per year (Meets are usually at Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and Baldwin-Woodville.). Information meetings are typically held in December. Coaching typically begins in late December/early January and competitions take place in February and March. Interested and excited students should see Mrs. Langman and Mrs. Fern-Denzer for more information.
PLAY/SET CREW
Students from 5th-8th grade participate in this after school activity. There is a Middle School play each year. This year we are performing Frozen Jr.!
Here is this year's practice schedule (TBD for 2024-2025)
For the plays, the Set Crew comes up with the designs and ideas for all the sets for each scene change. There is a lot of cooperation and creativity happening at all times. From designing and creating the sets, to helping change scenes during the show, it is amazing what this group of talented kids does behind the scenes to help make the final production a huge success.
